Red Green Repeat Adventures of a Spec Driven Junkie

Praise for: Elon Musk Biography

I read Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson recently and wow. This is what I usually tell people when it comes up in conversation:

I have never read such a long book so fast that did not have a test worth >70% of my grade.

I didn’t have much of an opinion of Elon Musk before reading. Maybe just knowing him from the news, Tesla, SpaceX, etc. I do follow tech and celebrity news, I saw him in both, I just didn’t dig deeper into him.

After reading this book, I have a strong opinion of him. I can see why people love him, others despise him. It’s a really interesting.

I do agree with DHH’s comments on the book, it reads like a modern business book. What Elon does is nothing like I have read other business or engineering leaders have done. Getting that in-depth technically is amazing.

At the same time, getting a wide picture of Elon is great. Nothing felt off limits. Mistakes presented.

I definitely recommend this book - especially if you’re a business leader in a technical field.

No, I would put this book on every reading list for anyone doing work.

It’s just that good.
