Hacking on Rd.io at Spotify - Stepping Off Stage

This is part of my experience when I attended the Spotify NYC hackathon in 2013.

Presenting a hack that connects two APIs together isn’t much of a hack, even solving the “I want to play this song at a Party” - CrowdPlay wasn’t revolutionizing anything.

The most important thing CrowdPlay did was get me out of my comfort zone and solving problems in another domain with new tools.

At the end, even if I didn’t I win anything, that is an accomplishment in itself.

Seeing my friends present their hacks was awesome too. We spent the whole time together just working, chatting, debugging, etc. The time together was well spent.

I also made new friends too - after I presented CrowdPlay, people came up to me to say they liked CrowdPlay and introduced themselves.

Not too bad for a weekend geeking out.

Next, I find out who the winner is…
