Hacking on Rd.io at Spotify - And the Winner is

This is part of my experience when I attended the Spotify NYC hackathon in 2013.

Presenting my hack and receiving recognition from my peers made the effort all weekend worth it.

I was so energized by accomplishing this hack that Nothing Else Mattered.

The process is the result.

After going to enough hackathons, I know not to hold hope at the end where each sponsor announce winners, especially in this case, I didn’t even hack on the main sponsor’s API!

When winner announcements came, I paid attention when the Rd.io developer evangelist came up.

The Winner of the Rd.io prize is… CROWDPLAY!

YES!!!

The Rd.io prize was a year of Rd.io’s service, which I did not have so that was really nice.

For me, winning a prize at a hackathon is just the cherry on top of a sundae.

I found original code, dug around, and found CrowdPlay didn’t just use two APIs
