Hacking on Rd.io at Spotify - Stepping On Stage

This is part of my experience when I attended the Spotify NYC hackathon, way back in the day.

Adding another dimension to my hack at the last minute to improve my presentation was a big gamble.

I remember going up on stage thinking: “Nothing left but to see what happens now!”

I delivered the problem exactly as I framed it:

Ever been at a party where you wanted to play a song but didn’t know how to get it on the speaker? This is there CrowdPlay comes in!

I gave everyone the phone number to text a song to and prayed things worked.

Well - in an instant, music came out of my speakers and a whole bunch of songs queued up!

Yes - the work I did all weekend paid off, I presented something and it worked!

Stepping off stage, I found another level of satisfaction from all the work over the weekend.
