I am forever in debt to you as you were the first manager that gave me a chance to be a manager.

That may not seem like much - but I waited for the opportunity to be a manager for a long, long time.

I waited so long that I started to feel I may never get the chance to be a manager.

Hence, when I got the chance to be a manager on your team, it meant the world to me and my family.

The next thing where I felt you helped me become a manager was spending time with me in our weekly 1:1. This showed you took me seriously as a manager.

Our 1:1 helped me so much as a manager. You helped me manage through performance improvement plans, team member title changes, promotions, compensation changes, no compensation changes.

They say you always remember your first - for me, you were the first manager that made me a manager.
