Burpee Workout Notes: Exhale on Exertion
These are workout notes - they start from this post
When I attended karate - almost half of the time 1.5 hours of a 3 hour lesson was working out. The workout was so hard that I did not eat dinner until after the session. If I did, I would feel uneasy because I would be pushing so hard (and if I didn’t, Sensei would!)
From karate lessons, I learned the value of breathing properly during exercises. For example, for a push up, breathe in on the way down, exhale on the exertion upwards.
Basically, exhale on exertion, inhale on inertia.
This is easy to remember on the first set where your heart rate is comfortable.
When your heart rate is maxing out and you just want the workout to end, this is where remembering to exhale on exertion will make a difference to every part of the work out.
Next, I share why I workout.
