Getting Things Done - Revisit: Scheduling
The start of this series is here
I revisited the Getting Things Done fundamentals and learned I am not doing the fundamentals in my practice of Getting Things Done.
I did not schedule those steps into my daily and weekly routine: capturing, clarifying, organizing, engaging, and reflecting.
Each of these have different frequency in the GTD process:
Any time routine:
- capturing
Daily Routines
- clarifying
- organizing
- engaging
Weekly Routine
- reflect
Knowing when or the frequency of these events in GTD is helping me adopt the framework better.
To make daily routines “stick”, even with kids in my schedule - I put a “repeating event” in my calendar at the beginning of the day. The “ideal time” I want to do that event.
If I do not do that event then, I just re-schedule the event to an appropriate time.
This helps me immensely with the clarifying and engaging events of Getting Things Done.
I share how I work with these scheduled items by waking up early
